It was another comfortable win for PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie as they hammered Heerenveen 5-1 at Philips Stadion. However, it wasn't just the victory that hit the headlines, but also a lovely goal scored by Dries Mertens along with his celebration.

Former England manager Steve McClaren is currently having his second spell at Eredivisie side FC Twente and he is enjoying his return to the club. Currently, Twente are leading the Eredivisie table after collecting 28 points from 11 games and looking really strong to repeat their title win in 2010 under McClaren's first spell at the side.

Racism issue has been hitting the football headlines recently and former England manager Steve McClaren is one of the latest who voice out his opinion about the problem. The current FC Twente boss is standing up against racism but he also urged that football should give more effort to take away the issue for good.

Highlights: FC Twente were looking to get back into the top of Eredivisie when they host Feyenoord on Sunday. Having just suffered a disappointing cup exit on midweek, the home were not in the mood to grab anything other than a win.

Highlights: Eredivisie defending champion, Ajax Amsterdam struggle again for victory this weekend as they suffered their first league defeat this season in the hands of Vitesse Arnhem.

Highlights: PSV Eindhoven temporarily moves into the top of Holland Eredivisie table after picking up a 4-0 home win over Heracles Almelo on Saturday. PSV took the lead just under 20 minutes when Dries Mertens' wonderful curling effort went through Heracles' net.

Some interesting results occurred at Holland Eredivisie on Sunday, where Ajax Amsterdam maintain their unbeaten run but extended their draw record at Feyenoord. The Amsterdamers twice got themselves on the lead through Christian Eriksen and Siem De Jong but twice also Feyenoord equalized through Jean-Paul Boetious and Graziano Pelle's wonderful goal.

Unpleasing incident occurred for Feyenoord Rotterdam defender Daryl Janmaat during his side's 2-2 draw against Ajax Amsterdam  as he was hit by a bottle thrown from the section of Feyenoord's fans.

Highlights: Feyenoord came back from two goals down to win 3-2 on their travel to VVV Venlo at De Koel stadium this weekend. Sitting deep in the bottom of Eredivisie, VVV started brightly with a goal from Oguzhan Turk's fine free kick just outside of the penalty box.

Highlights: Eredivisie defending champion Ajax Amsterdam face a difficult test when they travel to Heracles on the weekend as Frank de Boer's men were held into a 3-3 draw. The Amsterdamers started the match in an attacking manner and were immediately rewarded when an own goal from Ben Riestra gave de Boer's men a lead after only 10 minutes of play.

Highlights: Current Eredivisie league leader, FC Twente travel to Roda JC this weekend aiming to maintain their position in the league. Both teams were playing some attacking football right from the start but unfortunately none of Roda and Twente managed to grab a goal.

There  were goals galore in some Eredivisie matches on Sunday, one of them when PSV Eindhoven  trashed home team, VVV Venlo 6-0. PSV went two goals up in the first half thanks to Dries Mertens brace, things got much easier for the visitor after the break when Venlo had to play with 10 men as Nwofor Uche saw red.

Eredivisie defending champion, Ajax Amsterdam, ended current leader, FC Twente's 100% run with a 1-0 victory at Amsterdam Arena. The big match was far from what many anticipated as both teams didn't really had their best game, especially Ajax, who were much more under pressure.

FC Twente maintain their 100% start in the season after picking up their sixth win on Sunday by beating struggling  Heerenveen 1-0. Steve McClaren's men were forced to wait until half time before getting their goal, which was scored by Dusan Tadic, from the spot kick.

FC Utrecht continue their fine run in the Eredivise as they pick up a 1-0 away victory against Roda JC on Friday. Playing away from home didn't trouble Jan Wouters' men as they're confidence is flying sky high after going unbeaten on their previous four league games.
