Arsenal missed out on their chance to cut the gap with league leader Chelsea in midweek as Arsene Wenger’s men suffered a shock 2-1 defeat over Watford.

That result was disappointing indeed, notably the way they were performing which received plenty criticism, including from Gunners’ own keeper, Petr Cech.

Cech especially highlighted how poor they were in the first 45 minutes which saw them trailing 2-0 and could’ve conceded more goals by the way their opponent was creating chances.

The former Chelsea goalie stated that they were simply being second best during the first period, something that can’t be done when playing at high level competition.

Moreover, the shot stopper also added that in order to do well in Premier League they must play for 90 minutes, not just 80 or notably 45 minutes.

That result was considered as a huge setback by Cech as they were keen on picking up maximum points that can put them in a much better situation before playing a big game against table topper, Chelsea next weekend.

Losing the midweek tie simply put Arsenal nine points behind The Blues and seeing how Antonio Conte’s side have been performing recently, it won’t be easy for Wenger boys’ to defeat them again this time around.
