With PSV Eindhoven ended up losing against Ajax Amsterdam in the other game, Twente were in the mood to break down their opponent right from kick off. However, it wasn't an easy first half for the home side as they failed to score any goals.
Things turned around positively for Twente after the break, especially when Den Haag lost one of their player, who picked up a red card early in the second half. That situation was maximized by the host who netted their first goal through Dusan Tadic in the 55th minute.
Dmitry Bulykin sealed the host victory and secured their attempt in leapfrogging PSV at the top of Eredivisie.
