France are supposed to have world-class players, but where were they? There’s no harmony, no team spirit, no desire, no will to win – and I’m sorry, most of that comes from the coach and they get nothing from him

My word that’s about as tight as offside calls get. Rafael Marquez plays a ball from midfield and with the France defence static and Javier Hernandez either on or offside, the substitute is suddenly 15 yards ahead of everyone else and one-on-one with Hugo Lloris. He keeps his cool to take it around Lloris and slot into an empty net. GAME. ON.

Wow. France have been absolutely pathetic and Mexico have put them to bed. Pablo Barrera goes round Patrice Evra but is fouled by Eric Abidal in the area, it’s a definite penalty. The veteran Cuauhtemoc Blanco steps up and coolly slots into the corner of the net to spark ecstatic scenes from the Mexicans in Polokwane.
