Manchester City’s want-away striker Carlos Tevez returns to training on Monday with his future still very much up in the air. It is clear that he wants to leave the club to be closer to his family in South America but no club has been able to stump up the £50 million price-tag put on his head by City. Reports of a move to Corinthians have gone cold in recent weeks whilst there have been no concrete bids from Real Madrid or Inter Milan, despite reported interest.

Roberto Mancini has stated that he will continue to pick the striker however after having clear-the-air talks. He stated, ‘At the moment we don’t have any news about other teams and Carlos will carry on playing for Manchester City. He arrives on Monday and will train. When he’s ready he will play’. The City boss has also poured cold water on a reported rift between the two by stating, ‘I spoke to Carlos four days ago…He was happy and told me he would be back on Monday’.

It is unlikely that the City camp will welcome Tevez back with open arms after the Argentinean made his feelings on the club clear this summer. He is expected to be replaced as captain of the club with Vincent Kompany but it remains to be seen whether Sergio Aguero has been brought to the club to play alongside Tevez, or to replace him.
