Rumors are surfacing that Tottenham may be ready to cash in on Welsh wing-wizard Gareth Bale this summer, which would spark a massive bidding war home and abroad. 

Despite recent claims that, “Tottenham are not a selling club”, the board has realized that bids in excession of  £30million would have to be considered.  This news has put Liverpool and Manchester United, as well as European giants Inter Milan and Real Madrid, on high alert.  Tottenham seems set to finish outside of the Champions League, and their tie with Real Madrid is all but wrapped up; the failure to reach their goals is sure to hit hard at closing time.

Bale has just recently signed a four and a half year deal, but that won’t serve as a shield when offers come flying in this summer.  United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is poised for a summer spending spree, and Bale will fit the criteria of “young players” as United look to inject their aging side with a splash of youth.

Bale has also found himself on Liverpool’s wish-list, with Kenny Dalglish and Director of Football Strategy Damien Comolli both desperate to bring width and pace to the Anfield outift.  John Henry and Tom Werner are already preparing their checkbooks, with a deal for Newcastles Jose Enrique seemingly close to completion; a deal around £10million. 

Bale has already attracted the eye of the Inter Milan chiefs, after single handedly destroying one of the world’s best defenders Maicon, on that thrilling night in Milan.
