Tottenham and Blackpool played to a 1-1 draw, granting them a point each.
Blackpool boss Ian Holloway: “Charlie’s had a tough season. He’s only going to improve, he’s only 24, and that shows the character he’s got. Today shows me there’s massive hope for the future. We don’t want to give up our place in this league. I loved it out there.”

Blackpool goal: Mental. Firstly, the visitors win a penalty when Michael Dawson handles inside his own area. Charlie Adam hammers the spot-kick goalwards, but Heurelho Gomes makes a stunning save low down to his left. From the corner, Gomes comes out, tries to catch once, can’t, twice, can’t, than Gary Taylor-Fletcher nicks it off him and Gomes brings the strike down. Unbelievably, we have another penalty. DJ Campbell tries to get the ball off Adam, but the Scot grabs it, puts the ball down, and smashes it with all his might into the other corner. Utterly amazing.
GOAL Tottenham 1-1 Blackpool (Defoe)
They need another one, but it’s a start. Jermain Defoe picks the ball up 30 yards out, moves forward and absolutely lashes a right-foot shot into the bottom right-hand corner of Matt Gilks’ net. Brilliant finish.
