Manchester City have furiously denied claims they will sell Carlos Tevez on the cheap, following talk of a fresh move to Corinthians.

The Brazilian club’s chairman, Andres Sanchez, had been quoted as saying they were set to buy the striker for 18m Euros, less than half the amount they previously offered, but City have stated they will not allow the striker to leave for below the asking price.

It is understood that City owner, Sheikh Mansour, is prepared to let Tevez sit out the three years remaining on his contract without ever letting him play again.
