Redknapp Praises Modric
Tottenham Hotspur manager, Harry Redknapp has today praised his Croatian midfielder over his attitude in the current transfer saga for the midfielder.
Modric has been linked with Chelsea ever since the market opened this Summer but has kept quiet over the supposed deal, ignoring all the “paper talk rubbish” and focusing on Tottenham.
Spurs who are on their Summer tour at the moment in North and South America and have brought the Croatian midfielder with them, as owner Levy has recently told Chelsea Modric will not leave at any price what so ever.
The Spurs manager told American media earlier today: “His attitude has been first class. He has got on with it,” Redknapp said on Sky Sports News.
“There would be players when they have wanted to move that really wouldn’t have wanted to be playing today and not giving 100 per cent.
“But he only knows one way to play. He is a fantastic boy and a great professional.
“He worked hard today and his attitude couldn’t be better.”
“We can’t just be selling our best players off,” said the manager.
“Certain players just have that extra bit of class, like Rafa and Luka. We have some special players and we have to keep special players.
“They make the difference, so we have to keep Luka.”
