Carlos Tevez of Manchester City has been linked with a move to Spain in recent weeks, he handed in a transfer request mid-way through last season which he quickly revoked, but his wish to be closer to his family means a move may be likely. The figure of £100 million may however prove to be a stumbling block.
Madrid must decide whether to take up the £10-15 million option on on-loan striker Emmanuel Adebayor who enjoyed a successful period at the club whilst Santos striker Neymar is another who seems to be on the radar. Javier Hernandez of Manchester United is also a target but this has been denied by the side from England.
Full-back Fabio Coentrao of Benfica is another name on the wanted list but he looks set to remain in Portugal for at least one more season. There have been reports of a potential £35 million move for Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas as he seeks a move away from England but it seems likely that he would only complete a transfer to childhood club Barcelona.
Lassana Diarra has been rumoured to have handed in a transfer request yesterday and looks set to leave the club. Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are both said to be interested in the former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder. His style of play suits the Premier League and his consistent performances make it all the more strange that he was moved on from both clubs.
Kaka has been also been linked with a move away from the club with Chelsea and Milan lining up deals but it is becoming increasingly likely that he will remain in Spain looking to improve on a disappointing season last year. Karim Benzema has continually been linked with a move to England but no approach has been made and he is also likely to remain at the club for the foreseeable future.
