According to various local sources, it is understood that QPR are in talks with Sunderland over a possible deal for Anton Ferdinand. Rangers have already signed Joey Barton, Luke Young and Armand Traore since Tony Fernandes assumed control of the club. Boss Neil Warnock has stated that he would like to bring in four or five players before the end of the window and it now looks like that could in fact be the case.

Ferdinand fell out of favour last season but has started Sunderland’s first three Premier League games this season. He is however, in the final year of his contract and it seems that contract talks between the club and player have broken down in recent weeks. Titus Bramble and Michael Turner are now returning to fitness and therefore Steve Bruce may allow the player to leave.

Ferdinand, who is the younger brother of England and Manchester United defender Rio, cost the club £8 million three years ago. But it is believed that a bid of around £2 million could be enough to secure the former England Under-21 international. Follow the latest news at 1000 goals.
