Arsenal captain Robin van Persie admits he should have had more goals after his double at Norwich: “Norwich away is a tough game – I’ve seen them a couple of times this year – and made it a bit difficult for ourselves by missing a lot of chances. But we got the win in the end, so that is very welcome. I think we can get very close to the teams at the top this season, our aim is to get top four. It is a marathon but I am very confident we can do that.”

Norwich goal: I was talking up Norwich’s defending a moment ago but it’s a different story for Arsenal here. Per Mertesacker makes a hash of dealing with a routine long ball over the top, and Steve Morison shows great strength to heave him out of the way and finish for his third goal in as many games

Arsenal goal: That’s 30 Premier League goals in 2011 for Robin van Persie now. Theo Walcott again gets in behind the defence to put in a perfect low cross, Gervinho misses the ball completely attempting a flicked finish, but van Persie cannot miss from four yards out. Where was Russell Martin on the line though?

Arsenal goal: It’s another one for Robin van Persie, and this is a dreamy finish. Russell Martin makes his first mistake of the day as he is robbed in midfield, Alex Song plays the ball through for Van Persie and despite looking like he had gone too wide, the striker was able to clip a lovely finish over John Ruddy. Sensational goal from a sensational player.
