Zoltan Gera’s Goal Voted as Euro 2016’s Best by Fans

Just like the result of Euro 2016 which saw Portugal winning it all, a rather surprising result also occurred in UEFA’s goal of the tournament based on fans voting.

Unlike prediction of many, the winner of that award was Hungary’s Zoltan Gera for his long range low shot against Portugal during their 3-3 draw in group stage.

That goal surprisingly beat, Cristiano Ronaldo’s towering header against Wales and mostly Xherdan Shaqiri exquisite overhead kick against Poland.

Results stated that Gera’s goal received 32% of vote, while Ronaldo’s is at 24% followed closely by Shaqiri’s effort which received 23% numbers of voters.

Other names who are included in the top five list were, Eder’s Euro winning strike for Portugal against France along with Hal Robson-Kanu’s effort against Belgium.

Here are the complete list of UEFA’s goal of the tournament based on fans vote:

  1. Zoltan Gera 32%
  2. Cristiano Ronaldo 24%
  3. Xherdan Shaqiri 23%
  4. Eder 16%
