Manchester United’s target, Yerry Mina’s future is hanging in the balance as despite strong interest from several clubs’ including the Red Devils, his current club, Barcelona are yet to make any final decision about the Colombian international.
According to the Catalan club’s vice president, Jordi Mestre, the final say regarding Mina’s future will be down to the team’s head coach, Ernesto Valverde.
Putting on a quite impressive display in recent World Cup 2018 for his national team, the young defender’s stock rises significantly, despite not having much playing time last season with the Spanish giant.
Valverde himself in a recent interview admitted that Mina is a talented player, but the tactician urged the Colombian international to focus more on his defensive aspect instead of just scoring goals.
The soon to be 24-year-old center back certainly attracted more attention with his goal scoring ability which he showed in Russia, but that’s not something that Barca are specifically needed at the moment.
That statement from Valverde might not mean much, but could be a slight indication that the La Liga giant won’t losing any sleep should they lose Mina to any team this summer.
Man United themselves are desperately keen on adding new blood on their roster as their manager, Jose Mourinho, has been demanding for another addition throughout this summer.
Knowing that the transfer window in England will end much earlier than other leagues, United or any other Premier League teams that are keen on signing Mina must make their move quickly before the market ends.
