Wenger Remains Confident in Keeping Sanchez at Arsenal
Alexis Sanchez’s future remain uncertain with his expiring contract and constant rumors from the media linking him with several clubs, but apparently that’s not the case for Arsenal’s boss, Arsene Wenger.
Speaking to the media, Wenger remains confident that his star attacker won’t be leaving Emirates this summer, saying that the Chilean will return back to Gunners’ training camp once he recover from his flu.
Sharing his views after Arsenal’s Emirates Cup match against Benfica, the French tactician claiming that Sanchez should return to training on Tuesday, while adding there’s been no new situation regarding the player’s future as he will remain with the club.
Nevertheless, the suspicion regarding the Chile international attacker’s future won’t go away, especially since he still hasn’t sign any new deal at Emirates, which means the player can walk out for free when his deal runs out in 2018.
For now, Wenger seems persistent to keep Sanchez until his contract runs out, but with the transfer market still open until August 31, new development might easily change the whole situation.
Gunners themselves for now also struggle in their attempt to sign a new player as their bid for Monaco’s Thomas Lemar still not finding any development as it was also confirmed by Wenger himself.
Still, Arsenal prove their potential as they did managed to win 5-2 against Benfica on that annual preseason mini tournament held at Emirates Stadium.
