Host nation France successfully confirmed their passage into the knock out stage of Euro 2016 after grabbing another victory, this time against Albania.
Les Blues were in for another tough game though as they struggle to break down their opponent’s defense and needed two late goals from Antoine Griezmann on 90th minute and Dimiti Payet deep in stoppage time.
Albania fought bravely and were able to create several good chances aside from putting on a strong defensive display which frustrated Didier Deschamps’ men.
However, luck doesn’t seem to be kind enough for Gianni De Biasi’s men as late in the game their sturdy defense suddenly got broken down by Griezmann’s glancing header.
Keen on getting an equalizing goal, Albania pushed forward vigorously during additional time, allowing more space for France’s counter attack.
Payet took advantage of that extra space and with a swift counter attacking, he scored Les Blues second, which practically ended that game once and for all.
