Tottenham Hotspur’s disappointment in midweek continue this past weekend as they found themselves crashing out of the FA Cup as well.
Mauricio Pochettino’s men suffered a 2-0 defeat against fellow Premier League outfit, Crystal Palace, ending another potential cup victory this season.
Playing away from home, Tottenham tried to play their normal attacking football right from the start, in search for early goals.
However, it was Palace that managed to get things going early on as they got themselves in front through Connor Wickham’s effort after just nine minutes of play.
Things got even worse for Tottenham in the half hour mark when Andros Townsend made it 2-0 from the penalty spot.
After the break, Pochettino’s men tried hard in getting back into that tie, but none of their efforts were successful as Palace were able to hold their two goals advantage until the final whistle was blown.
Meanwhile, a contrasting result was earn by Chelsea as they comfortably made their way into the next round of FA Cup following a 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday.
Brazilian winger, Willian was the star in that tie as he netted two goals on 28 minutes from the spot kick and on 83 minutes.
Another goal was scored by The Blues’ wantaway young talent, Callum Hudson-Odoi who netted home on 64 minutes.
