Tottenham, Chelsea In Tough Champions League Groups
English Premier League may have five representatives in this current UEFA Champions League battle, but tough challenges are upon them for the group stages, especially for two London clubs, Chelsea along with Tottenham Hotspur.
The Blues got themselves drawn into group C which also have strong sides such as, Atletico Madrid and AS Roma with FK Qarabag as relatively unknown new comer.
On paper, Antonio Conte’s men do have the quality to march their way into knock out stages, though recent rumors regarding poor relationship between the manager and board needs to be addressed quickly.
Facing the likes of Atletico and Roma won’t be an easy task should Chelsea have uncertainties dwelling inside them, that’s why hopefully everything can be cleared out once the transfer market ends on August 31.
Meanwhile, Tottenham themselves also set for another difficult Champions League experience as they are paired with Real Madrid, Borussia Dortmund and APOEL Nicosia.
Notably the likes of Madrid and Dortmund will be Spurs’ toughest opponents on paper, though Mauricio Pochettino’s men shouldn’t underestimate APOEL as there won’t be easy teams in the competition.
The Premier League’s runners up last season certainly need to prepare themselves well for those group games if they want to go further in Champions League this time around.
