The World Cup 2014 is just around the corner and ahead of that competition, it’s always interesting to check out the latest FIFA World ranking that should provide some information for football fans on predicting which nations that have the best shot in winning that tournament.
Checking out the latest ranking, there’s not much changes happening in the top ten seat as World Champion, Spain, remain at the top of standings with Germany also sticking around in runners up spot.
The major changes from the top list occurred on two national teams, Uruguay which moved one spot to sixth spot, while Belgium that arrived into the 10th seat, replacing Netherlands.
This ranking result will stand as it is up until April 10th where FIFA updates the points for every teams, but since there won’t be many international matches around, there’s small chance that any major changes in the ranking will happen.
Interestingly, despite sitting at the top of FIFA rank, Spain are not being placed as main favorites to win this upcoming World Cup 2014 tournament as host nation, Brazil, are set as main contender.
Another exciting side that many are keen on watching in the upcoming tournament is Belgium that have been putting on an impressive performance during qualifying stages and possessed many quality players, such as Vincent Kompany, Eden Hazard and Romelu Lukaku.
