Spain Crushed Croatia, Belgium Smashed Iceland

Spain and Belgium picked up positive results on their latest UEFA Nations League fixtures this midweek as both national teams defeated their opponents in such convincing fashion.

Luis Enrique’s men showed positive signs already under his tenure as after defeating England last weekend, La Furia Roja went on to destory World Cup 2018 finalist, Croatia 6-0.

It was a stunning score line indeed, not only because of Zlatko Dalic’s men excellent performance in Russia couple of months back, but also because they actually started off that match pretty good and were able to create several good opportunities.

However, their failure to take that positive momentum turned out disastrous for Croatia as after conceding the opening goal from Saul Niguez on 24 minutes, things just went south for Ivan Rakitic and co.

Spain ended the first 45 minutes with a 3-0 lead having Marco Asensio contributing to the next two goals, though the second one was credited for an own goal as the Real Madrid star’s shot deflected into Croatia keeper’s back.

Things got even worse for the Balkan outfit after the break as they conceded three more goals from Rodrigo, Sergio Ramos along with Isco marking Dalic’s side biggest defeat in their footballing history.

Meanwhile, Belgium also earned a comfortable win, beating Iceland 3-0 despite playing away from home.

The Red Devils were dominant since kick off as they put on an aggressive display which was rewarded with Eden Hazard’s goal on 29 minutes from the spot kick.

Romelu Lukaku doubled Belgium’s lead two minutes later, giving Roberto Martinez’s men a two goals advantage as they go into half time break.

In the second half, nothing changed much as the visitor continue their domination before eventually sealing the match with a third goal netted by Lukaku again, who keep showing his goal scoring prowess for his national side.
