Arriving into Brazil 2014 through a difficult playoffs battle against Ukraine, added with a bit of controversy in terms of its players selection, many are doubting that France can produce something special for this World Cup.
However, Les Blues’ defender, Mamadou Sakhou has different thought as he believes that Didier Deschamps’ side will be able to surprise many people in the upcoming tournament.
Speaking to FIFA.com, Sakho added his trust on his teammates’ quality in proving their worth by saying,”What I like about football and what really pleases me is the unexpected, when things happen that you don’t think can happen. I would like to think we have players who can achieve things at a World Cup.”
Providing an example, the defender stated about France’s success in turning things around on their playoffs battle against Ukraine when Les Blues made a come back from a 2-0 first leg defeat to win it 3-2 in the end.
Still, the defender also ask for some cautious from his teammates, especially during the group stage since France are actually being tipped as favorite to comfortably making their passage into the second round.
Acknowledging the situation, Sakho hopes that he and his teammates can get their act together while taking on the likes of Switzerland, Ecuador along with Honduras in a serious manner.
