Starting the preparation ahead of World Cup 2014, Italian national team head coach, Cesare Prandelli, called up 42 players, who could potentially be called up to Brazil.
Among those large list of players are two Azzurri talents, Giuseppe Rossi and Stephan El Shaarawy, who have been troubled by injuries in recent months, but they are currently recovering their condition.
Although, none of Rossi and El Shaarawy will be available to play for their teams’ upcoming Serie A games this weekend, but apparently Prandelli is keen on checking out whether those two will be able to make it should they regain fitness in remaining weeks before World Cup.
However, many believes that Rossi has a much better chance in participating with Azzurri in Brazil since he did put on a promising performance before picking up his latest injury.
Meanwhile, El Shaarawy himself hasn’t really had much playing time with AC Milan this season as he was rather unlucky in picking up several injury problems that limited his time on the pitch.
It will definitely be interesting to see who will Prandelli finally picked to be on his 23-man squad especially since there have been several players who started to show their potential in Serie A.
