Real Madrid are looking to book a ticket into another Champions League semifinals as Los Blancos took a commanding 3-0 lead over Juventus in the first leg of their meeting on Tuesday.
Having to start their first match up away from home didn’t seem to faze up Madrid as they made a bright start by scoring after just three minutes into it through their star, Cristiano Ronaldo.
That early lead triggered a positive reaction from the home side, creating an exciting battle as both teams were going for it.
Carrying that slender lead into the second half, Madrid felt a bit more pressure early in that second period as Juve were pushing hard in search for an equalizing goal.
However, the host’s aggressive display left them quite open at the back and from a defensive error, Madrid pounced to score their second with another effort from Ronaldo, who scored a spectacular overhead kick.
That second goal practically killed things off as soon afterwards the Bianconeri found themselves playing with only 10 men as Paulo Dybala was sent off.
Zinedine Zidane’s side eventually sealed off their victory with a third goal from Marcelo, who finished off Ronaldo’s assist on 72 minutes.
Certainly a very positive result for Madrid as they are now carrying three goals lead going into the second leg at Santiago Bernebau.
In other game, Bayern Munich also picked up a positive away result as they defeated Sevilla 2-1, despite having to come from behind.
The Bundesliga giant didn’t have it easy as they were trailing when Pablo Sarabia scored on 32 minutes, but five minutes later Bayern were able to equalize courtesy of Jesus Navas’ own goal.
Both teams continue to pour forward in search for more goals, but it was the visitor that got theirs as Thiago Alcantara netted home the winner on 68 minutes.
