The World Cup 2014 is still couple of months away, but preparation for Italy’s national team already getting into the final stages especially regarding players selection as head coach Cesare Prandelli claims he already has 18 players on his mind.
Being quoted in FIFA‘s official site, Prandelli revealed that although he already set up 18 names, the search for remaining in completing that 23-players setup remains difficult.
“I have only 18 in my head. In order to complete that list, I have to first understand how those 18 are and then add the others. We shall see. All I can say is that all that are here (in Coverciano) have a chance,” the tactician explained.
The former Fiorentina’s tactician seems only keen on calling up the names who were previously summoned to do some physical tests, which apparently excluding two veteran players, Francesco Totti along with Luca Toni.
However, another senior player, Antonio Cassano, could be getting that final cut, especially if he can immediately recover from his current injury situation at Parma.
Rumors in Italy also suggesting that the veteran attacker is among those 18 names that Prandelli already set for his World Cup 2014, but the jury is still out up till the moment that list officially revealed.
