Portugal’s success in winning Euro 2016 gets a bit more sweeter as one of their star players, Renato Sanches was named as UEFA Young Player of the Tournament.
Only appearing as substitute player during the group phase, Sanches’ consistency eventually earned him that starting spot during knock out stage where he demonstrate his talent as a midfielder.
The 18-year-old beats the likes of Kingsley Coman from France along with fellow Selecao player, Raphael Guerreiro who plays as left back.
Sanches’ positive display in Euro doesn’t only pleases his nation but also Bundesliga outfit, Bayern Munich which will be the midfielder’s new club starting from next season.
The award itself is the first one given in Euro, making Sanches’ name somewhat memorable for years to come since his the one receiving that best young player title.
