There was no surprise being given by Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) regarding the appointment of their new coach as they appointed Danny Blind as replacement for Guus Hiddink.
Blind, who was previously an assistant to Hiddink, has actually been projected in becoming manager right after the former Real Madrid boss finished his contract by the end of Euro 2016.
However, since Hiddink decided to resign from his position, Blind got an immediate promotion as KNVB doesn’t seem interested in getting an interim boss.
The former Ajax Amsterdam defender’s main task would be to lead Netherlands qualifying into upcoming Euro 2016 finals in France.
At the moment ensuring qualification itself can be a tricky situation for Dutch after they made a rather disappointing start to their Euro qualifier group stage.
