Italian side, Napoli are continuing their quest in signing a new goal keeper with the latest report suggesting that Arsenal’s David Ospina as the strongest candidate to arrive at San Paolo.
This potential move was confirmed by the Partenopei’s president, Aurelio de Laurentis in a recent interview to media, stating that they are currently negotiating with Ospina, adding that an agreement could be be reached before the transfer market ends in Italy.
Although still unable to confirm anything, De Laurentis is hopeful that his team can struck a deal with the Colombian international goalie, though the president admitted that there’s still some difference between both parties.
Nevertheless, the TV mogul is confident that they can eventually sort things out and eventually concluded everything as soon as possible.
The transfer market in Italy will end on August 17, this season, which is much sooner than several other European competition except for Premier League.
This situation means that Serie A teams, including Napoli must work really hard in the next few days to conclude any deals as they won’t be able to sign anyone aside from free agents after the 17th.
The Partenopei themselves are in dire needs of reliable keeper after they loss Pepe Reina to AC Milan earlier this summer and their supposed replacement, Alex Meret, fractured his arm during training, which forced Carlo Ancelotti’s side to search for another goalie.
