Notorious for their slow starts domestically, Everton couldn’t have had a more positive start to their Premier League campaign, following their victory over hot favourites, Manchester United.
Everton dominated throughout the outset of the Premier League opener against the Red Devils, taking all three points, thanks to a man of the match performance by Marouane Fellaini.
The Belgian international headed the Toffees into a lead which they managed to hold on to, wrapping up all three points.
Moyes has praised his side and relished a rare start to the Premier League; “We’ve not started so well in the past, but we will judge the start after 10 games, not one,” Moyes said. “Winning one game doesn’t mean it’s a good start in the same way if we’d lost I wouldn’t have said it was bad start. The last time we had a good start we finished in the Champions League. What’s important is we don’t want to be playing catch-up as in previous years.”
