Mourinho Bemoans Man United’s Depleted Squad
Manchester United’s goalless draw against Manchester City in the midweek derby seemed to be the least of Jose Mourinho’s concern ahead of United’s upcoming matches as he has more worry regarding his depleted squad.
Following several injury problems his side are having, Marouane’s Fellaini’s sending off in that dull tie against City pretty much put Man United in such difficulty as they don’t have enough first team option for their Sunday league tie against Swansea City.
This situation was seriously highlighted by Mourinho who bemoans the lack of options his having as in midfield for the weekend game, he only have Ander Herrera along with Michael Carrick as their regular options for midfield.
That’s why the tactician is considering to put Wayne Rooney in that midfield role for Sunday, while hoping that his major summer signing, Paul Pogba, will be available again for their upcoming Europa League tie against Celta Vigo.
Aside from midfield, Man United also have many absentees in other departments, as they loss Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Juan Mata, Marcos Rojo, Chris Smalling along with Phil Jones.
Knowing the tight schedule they are set to experience with teams like Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are just around the corner, Mourinho is very eager to get some of his injured players back as soon as possible.
A very notably wish indeed for the Portuguese tactician, seeing how his team are still out of the top four seat for now, so Man United will have to gear up and pick up more points in their remaining fixtures.
