More Problems For Man United as Tottenham Hammered Them

Manchester United’s start of the new Premier League season have been far from rosy as Jose Mourinho’s men picked up their second straight league defeat as they got beaten at home by Tottenham Hotspur.

Keen on redeeming themselves after getting beaten by Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend, Man United were determined to turn it around against Spurs as Mourinho’s men put on an aggressive display since kick off.

The home team looked much better compared to what they showed in previous league fixture, but they still can’t seem to score, despite creating several good opportunities.

United’s poor finishing early on looked to be their downfall as Tottenham were getting dangerous at the end of that first 45 minutes.

Drawing 0-0 in the first half, both teams tried to improve their performance in the second period, but it was Mauricio Pochettino’s side that gotten much better.

The visitor got the breakthrough on 50 minutes through Harry Kane’s fine header from inside the penalty area, converting from  a corner kick.

Things got even worse for United as two minutes later it was 2-0 for Tottenham when Luca Moura finished off a fine counter attacking move to beat David De Gea for the second time.

Going 2-0 down forced Man United to push even harder as they were keen on getting back into that tie, but none of their efforts were fruitful.

Tottenham practically ended that tie on 84 minutes as Lucas completed his brace with another fine finish from just inside the penalty area.

An impressive away win indeed for Pochettino’s men, but another disappointment from Mourinho’s boys as they certainly gave themselves more pressure at the start of this season.
