AC Milan’s new signing, Joao Felix, made a strong impression in his first game for the club during the Rossoneri’s Coppa Italia win against AS Roma on Wednesday. Felix’s fine display triggered questions on whether the Rossoneri can keep him past this season, as he was signed on a straight loan deal.
Milan Confident to Keep Felix Permanently
The Rossoneri beat Roma 3-1 in midweek, and one of the performances that attracted much attention was from Felix. Aside from putting on an excellent display, the Portuguese international scored Milan’s third and decisive goal.
His strong performance seemed to bring plenty of joy to the fans as they were excited at the potential of watching such an amazing talent playing for Milan. However, there’s concern that they can only enjoy Felix’s performance until next summer as he was signed on a straight loan deal.
However, Milan’s director, Geoffrey Moncada, ensures that the chance for his club to keep the former Benfica star is wide open. Moncada reveals that the decision to keep Felix will depend on the player and the Rossoneri.
Dealing With Chelsea Won’t be a Problem for Milan
Although the 25-year-old’s current status is a Chelsea player who is on loan, it’s not uncommon that the situation can change. Although the Blues have just signed Felix from Atletico in August 2024 in a seven-year deal, they are not closing the door on selling him if the offer is right.
Aside from their good relationship with Milan, The Blues also have more than enough players who their coach, Enzo Maresca, seems to trust more than Felix. Knowing that they have enough talent on their roster, Chelsea most likely will be open to discussing a deal with the Rossoneri next summer.
