Competing with the likes of Xavi, Iniesta and Fabregas in Barcelona’s midfield is never an easy thing and that’s pretty much the issue that Javier Mascherano was having in his early days at the club, forcing him to adapt into playing at central defense role which has now strengthen his position there.
The player himself has accepted his role being shifted as he acknowledged the competition his having is a fierce one. Mascherano added that unlike many wouldn’t thoughts, working with super stars at Barca wasn’t hard as none of them have huge egos in the dressing room.
