Following Belgium’s exit in Euro 2016 quarter finals against Wales, what’s to be expected from Marc Wilmots’ tenure with the Red Devils come to fruition as he has officially resign as head coach.

That decision was announced by Belgium’s Football Association via their official site, stating in a calm manner that Wilmots is no longer The Red Devils’ tactician.

Being labeled as one of the favorites going into the tournament, Belgium’s quarter finals exit was considered a rather disappointing feat, especially since they were well beaten in a 3-1 score line by Wales.

Aside from that defeat, Red Devils also suffered a 2-0 loss from Italy on their opening group game, which first triggered doubt regarding Wilmots’ credibility as Belgium’s boss.

The Belgium FA remain grateful though towards Wilmots as under his reign, they were able to climb high up into FIFA rankings and become a side that are feared across the globe.
