English Premier League defending champion, Manchester City added another new blood into their rooster after they announced the signing of former FC Porto defender, Eliaquim Mangala.
Man City confirmed the long awaited deal on their official website, confirming that Mangala signed a five years deal with an undisclosed fee and set to wear the number 20 jersey.
Furthermore, Mangala himself also showed his joy in joining Man City, stating that the move is important for his improvement as a footballer. “City is a top club in Europe. For me, it was an important step to leave Porto and join Manchester City in order to continue my progress. I want to win titles and I believe I can do this. I am ambitious and this is why I am here,” the defender stated.
City will be hoping that Mangala can put on a solid defensive combination with Vincent Kompany this season as they are keen on retaining their league title and improving their performance in Champions League.
