Manchester United had a small advantage in their Champions League knock out stages battle against Sevilla as the Premier League giant held their Spanish opposition into a goalless draw in Spain.
Being labeled as favorite to go through, United were finding it hard against the La Liga outfit as Jose Mourinho’s men were put under pressure a lot since the first 45 minutes.
Vincenzo Montella’s men were playing aggressive attacking football and created several opportunities, which brings many problems for the visitor.
Nothing changed much after the break as Sevilla still created more, while Man United playing more from the counter.
Unfortunately no goals were scored by either teams until the final 90 minutes was over as both sides were forced to settle for a 0-0 draw and must decide everything in the second leg at Old Trafford.
In other tie, AS Roma were beaten by Ukrainian champions, Shakhtar Donetsk 2-1 in an interesting tie as both teams were keen on playing attacking football, especially Shakhtar as they played at home.
The away side actually got themselves ahead in that encounter as Roma found themselves 1-0 up going into half time break thanks to a goal from their young talent, Cengiz Under.
However, the home team turned things around in the second half, starting with an equalizing goal from Facundo Ferreyra, who made it 1-1 on 52 minutes.
After missing several opportunities, Shakhtar finally completed the turn around with an excellent free kick from Fred.
