Man United Held Again, Leicester Continue Winning Run
Manchester United’s top four ambition continue to face a hurdle as this midweek, Jose Mourinho’s men were held by Everton at Old Trafford.
The home team have to thank their star forward, Zlatan Ibrahimovic as his late penalty rescued them from a potential defeat as they were trailing since the first 45 minutes.
Keen on redeeming themselves following their last weekend draw against West Brom, Man United were determined in knocking out their opponent.
However, it was Everton that started off better as they went one goal up after 22 minutes of play through Phil Jagielka’s effort, which lasted until half time break.
Mourinho’s men pushed hard in getting back into the tie and things don’t look good for the home side as they struggle to get that equalizer.
Fortunately, in stoppage time, Man United eventually got their goal when Ibrahimovic converted a spot kick, which also saw The Toffees finishing that tie with only 10 men with Ashley Williams sent off.
Meanwhile, Leicester keeping their positive run after picking up all three points by defeating Sunderland 2-0 at home with goals from Islam Slimani and Jamie Vardy.
After sacking Claudio Ranieri, the Foxes seemingly getting themselves back into last season form as they have been able to lift themselves out of any relegation trouble.
Vardy and co currently sit in 10th place, which is a quite positive achievement for them knowing their difficult start this season.
