Man United Cut Gap With City After Comfortable Home Win

Manchester United are still keeping their small hope of grabbing this season English Premier League title alive following their victory against struggling Stoke City side on Monday.

Knowing that their arch rival got beaten by Liverpool a day before, Jose Mourinho’s side put on a strong and aggressive display straight from kick off.

That positive approach was immediately rewarded as United got themselves in front after just nine minutes through Antonio Valencia’s effort.

The early goal made things much more easier for Mourinho’s boys as their confidence are rising high, believing that they can bag maximum points at Old Trafford.

Things got even more comfortable for Man United when Anthony Martial scored the second goal with a lovely curling shot on 36 minutes, giving his side a two goals lead going into half time break.

United didn’t ease up their pressure in the second period as they kept on pouring forward in search for more goals and eventually snatched their third one on 72 minutes through Romelu Lukaku’s strike.

No more goals were scored afterwards, but that 3-0 victory was more than enough for Mourinho to enjoy, especially with Man City’s defeat on Sunday.

That win doesn’t change anything much for Man U as they’re still sitting in second place but at least they’re cutting that huge gap with Pep Guardiola’s side into 12 points from previous 15.
