Manchester United’s hunt for another defender in the final day of this summer transfer market continue to face obstacle as the latest report stated that they’re attempt on signing Diego Godin has been rejected.
Already entering the final day for Premier League transfer market, Jose Mourinho’s men are still scrambling to get themselves at least one additional signing, preferably a new defender.
That quest apparently lead them into Godin, but the media believes that United’s approach has been rejected by the player himself as well as Atletico, triggering more disappointment from Mourinho.
Although anything can still happen until the market official shut down, but it’s very unlikely that the Uruguayan international will suddenly change his mind as reports suggesting that he is keen on continuing his time with Diego Simeone’s side.
This situation pretty much marked Red Devils’ struggle in acquiring a new defender up till now, despite being constantly linked with Harry Maguire and Toby Alderweireld.
Despite interest from both players, but neither of their clubs are able to agree anything with Man United, especially Leicester City which reportedly not keen on selling Maguire this summer.
Alderweireld himself could very well be available, but Tottenham Hotspur are not willing to part ways with the Belgium international in a cheap fashion.
It will be very interesting to see whether Mourinho can really acquire someone to bolster his squad for the new season, which will start this weekend.
