Man United Confident in Signing Transfer Target from Lecce

Manchester United are working to help their new boss, Ruben Amorin build his squad by entering the January transfer window. One of the players they are targeting is Lecce’s left-back, Patrick Dorgu, who United are confident in acquiring before the winter market close.

Man United Aim to Complete Dorgu’s Deal Soon

Despite not having the ideal financial situation to make moves this January, Man U’s management remains keen on supporting their new boss. They have been working to bring in some signings while also trying to offload players so Amorin can get his ideal setup to work on.

One of the players they are keen on getting is Lecce’s star defender, Dorgu, who is also a Danish international player. Despite his young age, the 20-year-old has been attracting plenty of attention and United are keen on winning the race for his signature this January.

According to reports from multiple media, negotiations are still ongoing between both clubs, although United saw their first offer rejected by Lecce recently. The Red Devils are not giving up though and after recent talks, they are confident that a deal can be reached as soon as possible.

As reported by transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano via his social media account, Man U’s previous bid which was worth around 27 million Euro was rejected as the Serie A side wanted at least 40m for their star player. However, United are reportedly ready to present its latest offer in the next 24/48 hours and believes that a deal can be struck.

Dorgu Already Agreed to Join Man United

Aside from their latest positive talks with Lecce, one of the main reasons for United’s confidence in acquiring their target is the player’s agreement. The Danish international has reportedly said yes to part of Amorim’s project starting this January, amid the struggle that Man U have been experiencing so far this season.

The Red Devils are not the only clubs keen on getting Dorgu, there are several other teams, including Napoli. However, the Italian side are only keen on making any moves for the 20-year-old defender from next summer and not in the January transfer window.

Man United will be hoping that they can seal the agreement with Lecce soon and give their new coach a new reinforcement this January. United have been struggling in the Premier League this season so far, sitting 12th in the current standings with 29 points from 23 matches.
