Manchester City continuing their recent positive result in Premier League with a convincing 7-0 victory over Rotherham United in FA Cup third round match.
Following their important victory against Liverpool, City were in such confidence mood as they face up against the England Championship side.
The home team immediately got themselves in front through Raheem Sterling after 12 minutes, before Phil Foden and Semi Ajayi’s own goal closed the first 45 minutes with a 3-0 victory for Pep Guardiola’s men.
After the break, Man City didn’t stop their aggressive display as they continue to pour forward and add four more goals in that half.
Gabriel Jesus netted the team’s fourth, followed by Riyad Mahrez, Nicolas Otamendi along with Leroy Sane’s effort five minutes from time.
It was an anticipated result obviously for City, but still they were able to maintain their enthusiasm from their league victory against The Reds despite facing a weaker opponent.
Meanwhile, a shocking result occurred for Leicester City as they were eliminated by League Two side, Newport County.
Claude Puel’s men suffered 2-1 defeat from the home team in a thrilling encounter which saw Newport netting the winner from a spot kick five minutes from time.
Mike Flynn’s men started off brightly as they got themselves ahead after just 10 minutes of play through Jamille Matt.
Leicester tried hard to get back on level terms and eventually managed it on 82 minutes from Rachid Ghezzal’s goal, but three minutes later Newport regained their lead thanks to Pedraig Amond’s spot kick.
