English Premier League defending champion, Manchester City found themselves dropping points in the competition’s third week as they were held by Wolverhampton Wanderers 1-1.
Playing away from home, Pep Guardiola’s men still maintaining their usual possession based attacking football and were determined to pick up maximum points straight from kick off.
It was far from an easy task though for City as their opponent put on a valiant effort to try and stop the defending champion and also create problems for Guardiola’s boys.
After a goalless first 45 minutes, both teams continue their search for goals after the break and it was the home team that got the break through when Willy Boly put them in front on 57 minutes.
City reacted well though after going down as they increase their attacking intensity and eventually got themselves back on level terms with an effort from Aymeric Laporte on 69 minutes.
Despite both teams’ strong attempts in search for goals, none of them were successful as that match finally ended in a 1-1 draw.
A slightly disappointing result indeed for Guardiola’s men as they certainly wan’t to keep collecting maximum points in this early stage of Premier League season, before the schedule gets tighter due to their European commitments.
