English Premier League title race get hot again as current league, Liverpool, leader saw their unbeaten run ended in the hands of defending champion, Manchester City.
Needing all three points to cut their gap with their opponent, Man City were putting on an aggressive display straight from kick off.
It was an exciting match since early minutes as both teams were pushing hard in search for goals, but it was the home team that able to get the break through as Sergio Aguero opened the scoring on 40 minutes.
Trailing by a goal in the first 45 minutes, Liverpool tried to change things around as they push hard for that equalizing goal.
The visitor did manage to draw level when Roberto Firmino netted home from close range on 64 minutes making it 1-1.
That equalizer spurred Man City again as they start pushing hard again to get that winner, which they eventually earned on 72 minutes from Leroy Sane’s low driven shot.
Things got a bit scrappy afterwards as Liverpool were desperate to get level again and playing a more direct football which trouble City’s defense.
The home team themselves were dangerous on the break and should’ve sealed that tie with a third goal, but combination of poor finishing and Alisson’s saves kept the score line at 2-1.
It was an important victory for Pep Guardiola’s men as they are now only four points behind Liverpool in the table, while ending The Reds’ unbeaten league run along the way.
