Liverpool got themselves back into the top of English Premier League standings despite only grabbing a point from their latest fixture against Manchester United.
Jurgen Klopp’s men were determined to pick up a good result as they are looking to catch up with Manchester City.
Playing the game at Old Trafford, The Reds look rather cautious from kick off, putting on a slightly safe line up.
However, that tie never really got into the second gear following bizarre injury situation hitting United.
Ole Gunnar Solksjaer’s side were force into making all three substitution already after just 45 minutes of play.
The Reds themselves also lose Roberto Firmino, who also forced to leave the pitch because of injury.
After a goalless first 45 minutes, both teams tried to increase their attacking intensity, but couldn’t really make too many changes.
Liverpool relatively poor performances away from home seem to continue this Sunday as they struggle to break down their opponent.
The same can also be said for United as until the final whistle was blown neither teams were able to score any goals.
Fortunately for Liverpool, with a game in hand, even one point is enough to take them leapfrogging Man City in current standings.
That result also affected Man United as Solksjaer’s team now have to settle slipping back into fifth place behind Arsenal.
