Liverpool Qualification Delayed, Man City and Tottenham Secured Top Spot

Liverpool have to wait until the final match day of UEFA Champions League fixtures before ensuring their potential passage into the knock out stage following their 3-3 draw against Sevilla.

The Reds looked to be on their way into Champions League’s second round as they found themselves jumping 3-0 up during the first 45 minutes with Roberto Firmino scoring a brace and Sadio Mane adding another one.

However, Sevilla were not keen on getting beat up in front of their home crowd as they reacted positively after the break, pushing hard and eventually getting back into that tie.

Wissam Ben Yedder also bagged two goals for the La Liga side, before Guido Pizarro’s late effort secured one point for his team, creating such tense final matchday in group E.

Meanwhile, two other Premier League representatives in the competition, Manchester City along with Tottenham Hotspur have both confirmed their group winning status after their midweek results.

City defeated Feyenoord 1-0 with a late goal from their English winger, Raheem Sterling, who struck within just two minutes before the final 90.

Spurs had to work harder though as they were trailing by a goal when Pierre Aubameyang scored for Borussia Dortmund on 31 minutes, giving the Bundesliga side that slender lead going into half time break.

The Premier League outfit bounced back quickly as they drew level on 49 minutes through Harry Kane and eventually turned things around on 76 minutes from Son Heung Min’s effort.
