Liverpool must wait until the final game of UEFA Champions League to see whether they can advance into the knock out stage or not following their 2-1 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.
Already losing their previous two away games in the competition, The Reds looked really cautious as they don’t want to suffer another disappointment on their travel.
However, that negative approach didn’t work well as PSG were able to dominate proceedings and eventually got themselves a breakthrough on 13 minutes from Juan Bernat’s effort.
The French outfit continue to look more dangerous and got their second goal on 37 minutes when Neymar finished off a fine attacking move to give his side a deserved advantage.
Despite playing rather poorly in that first 45 minutes, Liverpool did found a lifeline just before half time break as a mistake from Angel Di Maria resulted in a penalty which James Milner converted well.
In the second half, Jurgen Klopp’s team tried to improve their performance and look for that equalizing goal, but were struggling to even get any shot on target.
Eventually, PSG hold on to their 2-1 lead and create an intriguing situation for the final match day on that intense group.
Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur also opened their shot in advancing into the next round of Champions League as they defeated Inter Milan 1-0 on Wednesday.
Dominating the tie, it took them until the 80th minute to find that important goal, courtesy of Christian Eriksen’s close range finish.
That single goal was enough to secure all three points for Tottenham as now they must win their final game against Barcelona.
