An intriguing contest occurred in the first leg of Champions League semifinal at Anfield between Liverpool against AS Roma as The Reds took a big 5-2 lead going into the second leg.
Being considered as underdogs, both teams were determined to showcase why they deserved to play in the semifinal as they put on an aggressive display since kick off.
Roma started off well, but suddenly fell apart once Liverpool somehow got themselves ahead with a lovely strike from Mohamed Salah on 35 minutes.
Things got better for the home team just before half time break as they got themselves a second goal, again from Salah, who simply stunned his former team with his dazzling display.
The game seemed to be going into one direction in the second half when Liverpool suddenly added three more goals through Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino’s brace, but Roma’s never say attitude made things interesting.
Edin Dzeko continuing his goal scoring prowess in Europe by netting one on 81 minutes to make it 5-1, before Diego Perotti converted from the spot kick and set the scoreline 5-2.
Although it was another heavy away defeat for Roma, but just like in the previous stage, they can still go through with a 3-0 victory at home, something they already did against Barcelona.
