Liverpool temporarily got themselves back into the top of English Premier League standings following a quite comfortable 4-1 victory against Cardiff on Saturday.
Coming off an excellent midweek Champions League result, The Reds looking confident and hungry as they were hosting one of the newcomer of the EPL.
It didn’t take long for Jurgen Klopp’s men to get themselves going as they went one goal up after just 10 minutes of play through Mohamed Salah’s effort, which lasted until half time break.
The Reds didn’t stop their aggressive attacking play in the second period as they added their second on 66 minutes from Sadio Mane’s effort.
Cardiff were able to create a slight problem though for the home side when Callum Paterson pulled one back for the visitor on 77 minutes.
However, Liverpool regained their composure when Xherdan Shaqiri made 3-1 on 84 minutes, before Mane completed his brace to secure all three points as he made the score line 4-1.
Another important result indeed for Klopp’s men as they continue to show their ability in challenging for titles in all competition this season, notably the English Premier League, which they haven’t been able to win in quite sometime now.
The Reds now will be waiting for other teams’ results to know whether they will end this round still at the top of table or not.
