The highly anticipated big match in English Premier League this weekend between Liverpool along with Manchester United didn’t end in a brilliant fashion as both sides shared a goalless draw.
Playing in front of their home crowd at Anfield, The Reds were determined in taking control of proceedings from kick off, which they were able to do with their dominant possession play.
Nevertheless, Jurgen Klopp’s men were struggling to break down United’s defense during the first 45 minutes, with only couple of dangerous goal scoring opportunities created.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho’s men pretty much did what was asked of them by sitting deep and playing mostly from the counter.
The visitor also managed to get couple good opportunities, but their lack of attacking intensity probably affecting their accuracy going forward.
After the break, both sides didn’t make too much changes on their approach, though Man United did try to push higher up the pitch occasionally, but was not too successful.
The home side remain in control for most of that second period and created slightly more openings, though still can’t get that goal they were keen on acquiring.
Despite their continuous effort until the final whistle, no goals were scored by either teams as they eventually have to settle for a point.
United might be slightly happier with that result as they did set their team to play more defensive throughout the match.
