Liverpool found themselves crashing out from another cup tournament as they were eliminated in FA Cup following a shock 3-2 defeat from West Bromwich Albion.
The Reds actually got themselves ahead on that tie, but poor defending simply cost them the game and that’s something even their manager, Jurgen Klopp sincerely admitted.
Speaking to the media soon after that match, Klopp was not shy on pointing out how his players were making several mistakes defensively, which led West Brom back into that tie.
In detail, the former Borussia Dortmund coach was disappointed about his players’ failure to win the second and third ball.
Moreover, the tactician was slightly disappointed at his team’s failure in maximizing their chances, especially the penalty decision they got during that match.
Nevertheless, the tactician still see some positives from the match, notably regarding his players’ excellent show of character in the second half, in which they did put on a better effort.
In all, Klopp do believe that his side deserved to get beaten as their opponent showed great desire and Liverpool themselves are simply not on their best to beat their opponent on the day.
Although FA Cup might not be their main target this season, but exiting a cup tournament is never a good sign for any team, including The Reds.
