There was plenty of joy seen from Crystal Palace camp when they managed to snatch that important Premier League promotion after defeating Watford in the recent playoffs final with an extra time penalty goal from Kevin Phillips.
Speaking after the match, Phillips stated that having to score in front of Watford fans didn’t scare him as it spurred him on instead, resulting in a successful spot kick which gave his side the promotion ticket. The veteran striker also added that his side deserved the victory, simply because they created more goal scoring chances than their opponent.
Meanwhile, Palace manager, Ian Holloway stated his anticipation for their upcoming journey at the top level, stating his hope that Palace won’t get down immediately as that would be considered as a failure for him.
